Getting sidetracked - CB400 café seat prep

Sick of not making any progress on any of my current projects, I got distracted.

I pulled out the cb400, yanked the battery and all the wiring from the seat area, and I took a grinder to it.

These tabs are now gone.

Sorry I didn't get any close up shots of the aftermath.

With these tabs out of the way, I'll be working on fabricating a café style seat soon.
Don't worry, I'm going to take a grinder to those spots and clean everything up later.

I'm still debating on whether or not I want to keep the seatlock. I'm thinking I won't, but it's not gone yet.

Split Cases Personality

I got the engine cases of the K7 separated last night.
Here's the results:
Pistons off.
Make sure you know which way they go back in.
Cases pulled apart.
*Clink plunk* "Where the hell did this little piece fall from?
...oh.
Gear teeth look great
and the faces will be polished in short order.

I went to Manassas Honda today and ordered 2 new primary chains, a tensioner, and all new crankcase bearings. Expensive, but worth it for the peace of mind that I won't have to do this again anytime soon.

Surprisingly good condition for a neglected bike.

This K2 swingarm bolt was in surprisingly good condition for being on a bike that had mice nesting in it.
