I'm sorry.

It's been well over three months since my last post, and I would like to apologize.
It's not for lack of content, or progress, really. It's for lack of time and inclination.
To sum up the last few months in a word: it's been "complicated." Somehow cleaning the garage turned into me rebuilding the shed, cleaning my living space, and renovating my closet, and fixing some plumbing... Like I said, "complicated." Oh yeah and a Miata followed me home.

Since I started working at Brooks' Cycle Center my life has been kicked into high gear.
My urge to wrench, fix, and mend is satisfied during the normal 9-5 so I'm happy. I've even picked up a second job working nights at a hospital to help supplement my income (work is slow in the winter).
However, when I come home in the evening I have to walk through a veritable graveyard of bikes and it's become quite depressing. Every day the same thing, watch other peoples bikes come and go while mine get neglected. So, I've begun to sort through my mess of a garage and shitpile of a bike collection. I wish I could say it was a Zen process of "pick up this part and place over here," but with 2 jobs and way too many other things demanding my time, it has been nothing but stressful.

But, with a new year comes a new attitude. I've managed to put a good dent in my workload and I'm ready to start prioritizing projects. I owe a number of people some motorcycles, and those of you who have been waiting have been all too patient.
Elrich, you're at the top of my list, despite the fact that Joey's bike is making some horrible top end noises.

Now if only I could figure out what the fuck to do with this thing:

  1. Lifted + body kit and Nissan ZX lights? That's wonderful.

I was just thinking about how long I haven't worked on the junk in my garage and it occurred to me, "Hey, gnarlywrench hasn't posted in a really long ass time." Well, that can no longer make me feel content about doing nothing. I need to get an electronic ignition for a '76 CJ360. Can you recommend one?

    1. I've heard tell that you can modify a Dyna-S from a GL1100 to work on the CB twins.

This guy managed to modify some sort of ignition on his CB.

There was talk of the possibility of PamcoPete developing one for the 360 back in July but I don't know if that ever came to fruition. Check the Honda Twins' forums and see what they say. You could also PM Pete directly and see if he's done.
Good luck, and let me know if you need any help.

  2. If anyone deserves to finally be out from behind a desk, happy, and enjoying themselves it is this guy. Truly a fantastic human being, and even better friend. Anyone have the chance to drop by-- I urge you to visit Charlie at Brooks with a Five Guys in hand. You'll probably never meet a nicer guy.

That miatar deserves nothing but Lemons, quite a humorous sight. I don't see it being worth it trying to bring it back to its original ''glory'' lulz. Love her for what she is, a mexican wet dream.

I've got a deal ready to go to pick up the F3 brake/clutch bits plus rear sets etc for 100 bucks in vabeach. Just let me know when it is time to go pick it up and I'll go get it. Btw, save the tail and rear lighting for me. My training wheels are coming off, you should see what I have finishing up on the 999 this go-round.

All the best in the coming year,
    Halfrican

    1. By that I'm assuming you mean 'remove the stock tail.'

Pick them up whenever you can. The motor and bike are separate at the moment so I could work on either without interfering with the other.
